1. Information We Keep
When you create an account we keep your name, your email address and your role (student, parent or teacher). For a student we also keep the board and class they choose.
As a student learns, we keep their learning records: the lessons they finish and their scores, the practice and exam papers they do and their marks, and their streaks and XP. We keep the conversations a student has with Aivi. We keep which parent and which class a student is linked to and, if you turn notifications on, the address your device gives us for them. We keep the messages a parent and their child’s teacher send each other on AIVICO.
2. How We Use It
We use this information to run AIVICO: to show each student their lessons and progress, to let Aivi answer in the context of the lesson being studied, to show a linked parent and the student's teacher how the student is doing, to carry messages between a parent and their child's teacher, and to send the notifications you turn on. We never sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Data Protection for Children
Most of the students who use AIVICO are children. Aivi is built for schoolwork: she is instructed to stay on the syllabus, she declines requests that fall outside it, and her replies pass through our AI providers' safety filters.
A parent sees a child's progress, reports and weekly summaries only after the child gives them a one-time link code. A teacher sees a student's progress only while the student is in one of the teacher's classes.
Students can’t send or receive messages. A parent can message only a teacher of their child’s class, and a teacher only the linked parents of a student in their class. A message can’t be edited or deleted once it’s sent, and it is kept even after an account is deleted, so that an AIVICO admin can review a conversation if a message in it is reported. Either of them can block the other.
We do not operate an age check or a parental-consent step at sign-up today. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to create the account and supervise its use.
4. Data Security
Traffic to AIVICO is encrypted in transit with TLS, and data is encrypted at rest by our hosting providers. We run on Supabase for the database and sign-in, and on Vercel for the application; both companies publish independent SOC 2 Type II audit reports covering their own platforms. Every table holding student data is protected by row-level security policies, so one account cannot read another account's rows.
AIVICO itself holds no security certification and does not commission external security audits today. If that changes, this page will say so.
5. Companies That Process Data for Us
These companies run parts of AIVICO and process data on our behalf:
- Supabase stores our database and runs sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website. Its Speed Insights measures how fast pages load, without identifying you.
- OpenAI, Google (Gemini) and Groq write Aivi's answers. They receive the student's question, the conversation so far, the lesson it is about, and the student's course level, XP and streak.
- ElevenLabs gives Aivi's voice guide its voice. When someone talks to the voice guide, the recording is sent to ElevenLabs to understand it and to speak the reply.
We do not share personal data with anyone for marketing.
6. Your Rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or your child's, by emailing hello@aivico.ai. An account cannot be deleted from inside the app yet, so we do it for you when you ask.
